  The ICF Central Florida Competency Café is an interactive professional development series designed to deepen coaches’ understanding and application of the ICF Core Competencies. The series provides a collaborative learning environment where coaches can strengthen their coaching presence, elevate coaching conversations, and develop greater confidence in demonstrating competency-aligned behaviors at the ACC, PCC, and MCC levels.

  Facilitated by Elias Scultori, MCC, each 60-minute session combines competency education, reflective dialogue, live coaching demonstrations, discussion of PCC markers, and practical application exercises to support participants in integrating coaching competencies into real-world coaching engagements.

  Participants will explore a reflective coaching process designed to support clients in moving from localized problem-solving to purpose-driven transformation. Through the framework Why Change — What to Change — How to Cause the Change, coaches will practice facilitating deeper awareness that connects the client’s goals with their larger sense of purpose and professional identity.

  Many clients initially seek to resolve surface issues — such as time management or productivity — without recognising the underlying patterns or values that truly drive their behaviour.   Many coaches develop awareness of cultural differences; however, advancing cultural competency requires moving beyond awareness into practical application.   Dr. Jennifer Koster is the DEIB Engagement Manager at the International Coaching Federation, where she leads global engagement strategies, supports member resource groups across regions, and develops inclusive learning experiences that reflect the evolving needs of the coaching profession. She works closely with the VP of DEIB, to build alignment and expand programming that fosters equity, access, and belonging. With a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition, an ACC credential, and a background in higher education, Jen brings clarity, strategy, and a touch of humor to every project—whether she’s designing a course, managing engagement, or making complex concepts actually make sense. In addition to my education, I spent many years working in the business sector in various roles in the banking, collections, and non-profit sectors. This work led to me teaching business courses later on. In 2014, I took a huge leap of faith to start a full-time college teaching career. I returned to my high school and started teaching at the secondary level. Career change doesn’t have to be scary–it is refreshing (and I would know!).

  Join us for an engaging event that will deepen your understanding of Codevelopment Action Learning (CAL) and its application in coaching, especially for cross-functional groups in organizations. CAL is a coaching process developed over the past three decades in the French-speaking world — Canada (Quebec), France, and Belgium — and is only now becoming adopted by English-speaking coaches, beginning with the publication of the first-ever English-language book in 2024, Codevelopment Action Learning (CAL) for Business: Co-create, Accelerate, Grow.

  This highly adopted and heavily researched technique is summarized in a series of steps. In this session, participants will practice Step 0 and be introduced to Steps 1–3 through a practical showcase, including a live demonstration with a volunteer client and volunteer coaches from the ICF Colorado community. Participants will also explore how to integrate CAL into their own coaching practices through dedicated breakout discussions, gaining insight into establishing clear agreements, fostering a reflective mindset, and transforming insights into actionable outcomes — all aligned with ICF competencies.

  Facilitated by Ron Cheshire, MBA, PCC, co-author of the book and co-founder of The Co-Leadership Group, joining us from Montreal, Canada. Ron is a leadership coach specializing in elevating leaders and uniting teams through personalized one-on-one coaching, strengths-based team coaching, and cohort-based action-learning development journeys.   Many professionals struggle with Impostor Syndrome (IS), doubting their success despite clear evidence of competence. First studied in the 1970s and originally coined the Impostor Phenomenon, it is now commonly known as Impostor Syndrome — the difference in terminology will be addressed in this session.

  For coaches, recognizing IS’s impact on clients’ confidence, leadership, and career progression is essential. This session, led by seasoned executive coach Susan Hahn, provides research-backed tools for clients to identify and overcome IS. Attendees will experience an IS assessment, gain strategies to foster resilience and self-assurance, and learn to guide clients toward lasting confidence. Susan will also share personal insights from how Impostor Syndrome and emotional intelligence showed up during her own recovery following a serious accident.

  As a business owner, executive coach, workplace mediator, and trainer, Susan works with diverse organizations throughout the United States, Europe, and Canada. She is CEO of Swan Consulting Group and adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins University, a Certified Physician Leadership Coach through the Physician Coaching Institute, and formerly credentialed as an executive coach through ICF (PCC).   Coaching and leading with cultural humility explores how coaches can create inclusive, ethical, and culturally responsive practices. Cultural humility is not a finite goal of “competence,” but a lifelong commitment to self-reflection, openness, and awareness of bias. In coaching, this approach deepens connection, strengthens trust, and supports more authentic and equitable relationships.
